- DESIGN STRATEGY TECHNOLOGY S.r.l (Dst)
DST is a digital consultancy and ICT solutions provider founded in 2008 by a group of professionals with more than 20 years of experience at IBM, PWC, E&Y, Oracle and Telecom Italia. As an innovative SME based in Rome, Italy, DST’s main business is to support its customers in the development and maintenance of IT and application infrastructures and the development of innovative solutions such as Semantic Technologies, AI (Artificial Intelligence) technologies and Big Data analytics. The Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES) is a world reference in large-scale integration of Distributed Energy Resources. The higher level of expertise has allowed them to take on key roles in important EU projects and also led to contracts for development and consultancy with manufacturing equipment companies and with power generation, transmission and distribution companies, regulators, government agencies and investors in Europe, South America, the United States of America and Africa. The following main research areas are addressed in CPES: Decision Making, Optimisation and Computational Intelligence, Forecasting, Static and Dynamic analysis of Energy Grids, Reliability, Power Electronics. Part of the activity is developed in the Laboratory of Smart Grids and Electric Vehicles that supports the validation of major developments in a real environment. Over the last years, CPES has made several developments in the electrical network planning and operation, namely the inclusion of distributed energy resources forecasting and network optimisation tools embedded in different voltage layers, exploiting the MicroGrid hierarchical concept. Relevant steps were given on the inclusion of computational intelligence in control algorithms that were demonstrated under real conditions in several pilots.

CARTIF is a horizontal, private and non-profit Research Institution, whose main mission is providing innovative solutions to the industry to enhance their processes, systems and products, improving their competitiveness and creating new business opportunities. CARTIF is a multidisciplinary centre that works in multiple knowledge fields focused to many economic sectors: energy, food, industry, construction and infrastructures, health and environment, addressing research lines oriented to the main societal challenges, as industry 4.0, smart grids, smart cities, energy efficiency, cultural heritage, quality of life, circular economy, natural resources and biotechnology.
We develop R&D projects financed by private companies or through public funds obtained from competitive calls at national and international level. We also supports public entities (city councils, regional governments…) on high impact projects planning and development.

Our approach includes: thought leadership, technical assistance, capacity building, outreach and consensus building. RAP key initiatives include: decarbonize the grid, electrification of buildings and transportation, distributed energy resources, reduce emissions from fossil fuels and design a clean energy future. With offices in Brussels and Berlin and staff based in Belgium, Germany, France, Hungary, the Netherlands and in the United Kingdom, RAP’s Europe team has built effective relationships with numerous EU agencies, NGOs and institutes, and is often sought out for advice on complex energy and regulatory issues. - COOPERATIVA DE DESENVOLVIMENTO SUSTENTAVEL CRL (COOPERNICO)
Coopérnico is a Portuguese renewable energy cooperative combining a sustainability-oriented approach with its social nature, solidarity, education and environmental protection. Coopérnico's mission is to engage citizens and companies in decentralizing and democratizing the energy system. The cooperative combines renewable energy generation with energy efficiency and retail activities. Coopérnico has over 5.000 members, some of whom participated in joint investments in 36 RES projects. Together these projects make up for a total capacity of about 2,5MWp. In 2019, Coopérnico became the first continental-wide cooperative retailer in Portugal. Not only does it act as the biggest energy cooperative in Portugal, it also signs up with a seat in the board of REScoop.eu. Coopérnico's team of experts have the skills that are crucial for setting up community energy projects and can bring in energy market experience, knowledge on functional requirements and on the design of disruptive business models, along with expertise around governance, communication, dissemination and members' engagement.
- WATT-IS SA (WATT-IS)
Watt-IS is a data analytics company that has been developing and applying Artificial Intelligence-based Data Analytics on top of smart metering data to provide high-value services to energy utilities, grid operators and other partners. Our main goals are to be able to increase customer satisfaction through innovative services provided and, with that, reduce churn rates and generate new revenue streams to our partners always with a focus on energy efficiency and the reduction of GHG emissions.
Watt-IS has built a cloud-based data analytics architecture & supporting infra-structure that integrates different data analytics modules focused on the needs of energy retailers and grid operators. These data analytics services can be made available via integration with white-label visualization platforms, in a SaaS approach, or via API’s following a DAaaS approach. Examples of such services are non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) where we quantify the consumption of individual appliances and generate automatically tailored energy efficiency measures. Furthermore, we have developed energy management mobile apps/web platforms to manage energy data at the end user level (households and services) and at the DSO level, as well as to manage energy communities.
- COOPERATIVE ELECTRICA DO VALE DESTE CRL (CEVE)
The Cooperativa Eléctrica do Vale d’Este - CRL – CEVE is a legal entity autonomous, of the 1st degree kind that, through the mutual help of its members and with the obedience to cooperative principles, non-profit transportation, distribution, supply and sale of low voltage electrical energy to its collaborators and to any users - natural or legal persons, non-members, for general uses, in areas that are concessioned in the county of Vila Nova de Famalicão and Barcelos, as well as throughout the Portuguese and European territory, with its activity falling within the branch of the cooperative service provision sector.
- ENERGEIAKI KOINOTITA CHALKIS (ChalkiON)
The Energy Community of Chalki, ChalkiOn, is the first energy community in the Dodecanese. It was established on May 19, 2021, based on the City Hall of Chalki. Among its founding members is the Municipality of Chalki. In this endeavor, first in all the Dodecanese, it maintains and expands its permanent cooperation with national and European institutions for the development of technologies and innovations and participates in projects and actions, especially in matters of energy, circular economy and environmental management.

GEARS SA is an aggregator that aims to provide optimal forecast for the production of RES Stations on both spot and derivatives market and be responsible for the submission of appropriate offers in the corresponding markets of the wholesale electricity market. GEARS settles all management issues with the Hellenic Energy Exchange and the Clearing House. We are a technology-based company that takes advantage of the latest developments in data analytics and uses new algorithms and real-time data to forecast generation and bring value to its customers. GEARS specializes in production forecast and trading. It has developed its own platform (awarded with the Silver BITE Energy Award 2023), which allows GEARS to link and control thousands of distributed energy resources.
- PARITY PLATFORM IDIOTIKI KEFALAIOUXIKI ETAIREIA (PARITY)
Parity Platform is a technology SME that develops web and mobile apps to accelerate transition to cleaner energy. The company has developed EV LOADER, an EV charging station management app that currently manages 300 publicly available charge points in Greece. Key clients that utilize the EV Loader to manage charging stations in their premises include Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Aria Group and Radisson Blu hotels. The app encourages flexible energy demand response by encouraging EV owners to charge in time of intervals when there is surplus of Renewable Energy in the city's grid. Furthermore, the company participates in Research projects on the fields of demand response, vehicle to grid (V2G) charging and enhanced cybersecurity in EV Charging infrastructure to advance technologies from lower TRL to ready for integration in the main commercial platform.

The Sustainability Research Group at the University of Basel was established in 2006.
